The drive mechanism used in the conventional power plant site is equipment supplied by a foreign company, and it is very expensive. To solve these problems, the need for the development of a new drive mechanism that improved the reliability of the drive mechanism and the convenience of maintenance has emerged. The above products were researched and developed, and they are currently installed and operated in Kori, Yeonggwang, and Uljin.

Low-pressure turbine 42” inlet pipe flange on-site processing and carry-out repair work

As the deformation of the low-pressure turbine 42" inlet pipes of Kori Nuclear Power Plant Units 1, 2, 3 and 4, caused frequent steam leakage during normal operation, increased the frequency of maintenance and repairing, and posed a serious threat to the safety of nuclear power plants. As a result, safe operation of power plants is promoted by greatly improving the reliability of low-pressure turbine facilities through the improved processing of the existing flange surface and the manufacture of new flanges.

Turbine overspeed protection device performance tester

Turbine overspeed protection equipment test device installed to rotate turbines of power generation facilities, etc. that produce electricity by rotating generators using steam or gas (supplied to KHNP Kori 1 Power Plant)

Pressure pipe end fitting polishing equipment

As the sealing surface is damaged due to the bending and erosion of the end fitting sealing surface, and other causes, etc. when nuclear fuel is replaced during the normal operation of a heavy water reactor, nuclear fuel replacement was disrupted. So this equipment was developed. Work efficiency was maximized by remote control to reduce workers’ exposure to radiation during the polishing work using the equipment and to prevent safety accidents due to high-place work.

Equipment for removing foreign matters from liquid waste

When liquid waste (washing water, etc.) within the power plant was discharged, this equipment used the filter at the rear end to remove the liquid waste, but as the expensive filters were replaced frequently, cost and work efficiency was reduced. So this equipment was used to install filters that can be used semi-permanently to remove foreign substances from the liquid waste. The use of this equipment greatly reduced costs and improved work efficiency.


This equipment is a tool for lapping valve seats in the field. It uses the low-speed air motor to lap the valve seats at low speed. Since the worker only needs to check the progress of lapping, it is possible to use several lapping devices to lap multiple valves.

Lubricant supply device and lubricant pump performance tester

This equipment has been developed to supply lubricant and conduct performance tests for the turbo chillers of the cooling water system.

STOP LUG storage rack

This equipment was installed so that several stop lugs can be stored on site by using a base block after repairing them. And as there are many people coming and going around the stop lug, accidents, resulting in deaths or injuries, are always likely. So we made this storage unit to ensure work efficiency and prevent other disasters in advance.

Steam generator mock-up

To make sure that this equipment can be used for multiple purposes in the maintenance and repair of steam generators, we made and installed a mock-up facility of the surrounding structure and the primary water chamber.


Since this equipment is mostly composed of devices, pipes and valves, the burden on the operator is increasing during the planned preventive maintenance because the operator frequently operates the valves for device maintenance and operation. Considering the above problem, we developed a portable and easy-to-operate valve actuator and stared to use it the field. It has been very effective.

Water jet cutting machine

This equipment is used for cutting radioactively contaminated debris. It has a very superior cutting performance compared to conventional flame cutting, and can significantly reduce workers’ exposure to radiation. We developed it to reduce work time and costs.

Active carbon extraction and insertion equipment

The active carbon extraction machine is an equipment developed to easily and safely collect waste active carbon and minimize the generation of active carbon dust.

Reactor stud bolt cleaning equipment

This equipment removes foreign substances and oxidation products from the reactor stud thread, and it can be operated simply by combining hydraulic and electrical (PLC control system) devices. The touch screen was developed to improve visibility and enable quick and accurate work.

Jacking oil pump performance tester

This equipment was developed to ensure reliability by checking the flow rate, pressure, and leakage, etc. of the JACKING OIL PUMP through performance tests at the operating temperature, flow rate and pressure of the JACKING OIL PUMP used for turbine maintenance.

Speed ​​and vibration sensor performance tester

It judges the quality of the sensor through the performance test of the speed sensor and the vibration sensor used in the existing (turbine and pump) before using the sensors. This equipment was developed to secure the reliability of the sensor.

In-core instrumentation detector guide tube extraction/insertion equipment

The extraction and insertion equipment extracts the thimble separated from the sealing table to about 4m to 6m above the top during replacement of the nuclear fuel, and stably mounts the extracted thimble. This equipment was developed to stably insert the thimble when the nuclear fuel is completed.
